Music
The latest release from Velvet Threads is their highly anticipated album “Sunday’s Best” which released in May 2024, and was nominated for Sask Music’s 2025 Album of the Year. This isn’t a one size fits all album, 'Sunday’s Best” was created by their seven uniquely talented musicians. They took influence from each member’s musical roots, and fused their preferred genres, resulting in a sound that's both familiar and refreshingly new. While many tracks are rich with bluesy undertones and a country flair, listeners will also find themselves immersed in emotive ballads and spirited pop tunes.

“The Velvet Threads stand out by a country mile, or perhaps a prairie horizon… a female fronted band with the lightly distorted, tangy guitars of modern Blues, the drumming reminiscent of Arena Rock energy and a deep, emotive vocal range reminiscent of Soul and Motown provided by singer Kate Fyrk, the band really shine from amid that atypic Saskatoon sound”
